SINGAPORE,March 25, 2025/PRNewswire/ -- Summit Group, through itsSingapore-based subsidiary Summit Power International Limited (SPIL), hosted an Iftar (breaking of fast) gathering for approximately 200 migrant workers, primarily fromBangladesh, during the holy month of Ramadan. The event took place onMarch 20at a workers'dormitory in Space@Tuas, with another 200 meals provided for Muslim workers unable to attend in person.
Founder Chairman of Summit Group,Muhammed Aziz Khan, personally participated in the gathering, breaking fast alongside the workers. The event also featured the distribution of gifts to 1,400 workers and the presentation of handmade appreciation cards created by approximately 50 students from Big Heart Student Care Services at Zhangde Primary School and the German European School Singapore.

Khan, a Singaporean of Bangladeshi origin, wasawarded the Public Service Medal(COVID-19) inOctober 2023for his work supporting Bangladeshi workers isolated in dormitories during the pandemic.
This marks the first Singapore Iftar event sponsored by SPIL, which is theSingapore-headquartered parent company ofBangladesh'slargest private-sector power generation company. Beyond this initiative, SPIL engages in various corporate social responsibility efforts inBangladesh, including charity donations for neuro-divergent children, participation in UNICEF programs to assist school dropouts, and support for scientific research in nutrition and online education.
The event highlighted the importance of community engagement and recognition of migrant workers'contributions toSingapore'sdevelopment. Teachers from theGerman European School Singaporeexpressed their appreciation for the opportunity to involve students in creating messages of gratitude for the workers, noting that the activity fostered creativity, teamwork, and compassion among participants.
