In a major step toward reducing environmental impact, J&T Express Malaysia has successfully implemented the use of recycled polyethylene (PE) woven gunny bags across all warehouses and outlets inWest Malaysia. Launched inMarch 2024at two gateway facilities, J&T gradually expanded the initiative, and it was fully rolled out bymid-November 2024. To date, the company has deployed approximately 310,000 woven gunny bags throughout Peninsular Malaysia withSabahandSarawakto follow suit later.

This green initiative not only minimises plastic usage but also aligns with circular economy principles. To support the durability and extended use of the recycled bags, J&T Express Malaysia invested in industrial sewing machines. Additional technologies such as tunnel machines and RFID scanners were also introduced to facilitate integration and enhance the efficiency of parcel sorting and tracking.
