February is approaching, and for K-pop and K-drama fans, it also means one thing: birthday projects. A new round of February birthday voting has officially opened, giving fans a chance to celebrate their favorite stars with real-life subway and billboard ads in Seoul.
The voting runs from January 5 to January 20 at 5 PM (KST) and is already drawing attention thanks to its high-impact rewards and star-studded lineup.
Giftree is a fan-driven voting service designed to turn fan support into offline advertising benefits for artists. Instead of votes staying online, the results are transformed into birthday ads placed in some of Seoul’s most visible locations.
Fans vote for their favorite February-born stars, and the top-ranked artists receive birthday advertisements that thousands of people see every day.

The artist who finishes first place in the February birthday vote will receive premium advertising at Hongdae Station, one of Seoul’s busiest and most symbolic youth districts.
The first-place rewards include advertising on the canopy above the stairs near Hongdae Station Exit 8, as well as a large wall advertisement inside the station near the Airport Railroad area.

If the total vote count for the first-place artist exceeds 1 million votes, an additional outdoor building billboard near Hongdae Station will be awarded for one full day, creating an even bigger birthday spotlight.
The second-place artist will also receive a meaningful reward, with a 15-day CM board advertisement inside Line 2 subway stations, ensuring long-term exposure across Seoul.
This year’s February birthday candidates include a mix of global K-pop icons, rising idols, and popular actors. The current voting list is as follows:
Noah
Rosé
Rei
J-Hope
Seo Young-taek
Noh Hyun-woo
Gunho
Jungmo
Johnny
Jungwon
The rankings update in real time, making every vote count as fans compete to push their favorite star higher.

Participation is open to both Korean and international fans. Giftree can be accessed by searching “Giftree” on major portals, and users can sign up easily using Naver or Kakao accounts.
Fans earn voting tickets by completing simple daily activities such as reading articles or viewing ads. Up to 74 votes per day can be collected, allowing consistent fans to significantly boost their favorite artist’s ranking throughout the voting period.

Unlike ordinary popularity polls, this system allows fans to visibly celebrate birthdays in public spaces, transforming online support into physical ads seen by commuters, tourists, and passersby every day.
With voting now open and competition heating up, fans are already mobilizing to secure top spots for their favorites.
As February approaches, the race is on to decide which star’s birthday will light up Hongdae next.
