A Rare Level of Global Anticipation

The achievement places BTS within striking distance of the highest pre-save record on Spotify, currently held by Taylor Swift at approximately 6 million. Whether BTS will surpass that benchmark remains a focal point of industry attention.

In addition to pre-saves, ‘ARIRANG’ has topped Spotify’s Countdown Chart: Global for two consecutive weeks. The chart tracks engagement for unreleased albums and singles, reinforcing the scale of anticipation surrounding the project.

Momentum Extends Beyond Streaming

Interest in BTS’s comeback has also translated into broader fan engagement. Following the announcement of ‘ARIRANG’ and the group’s upcoming world tour, membership sign-ups on fan platform Weverse reportedly tripled, signaling renewed activity across BTS’s global fanbase.

Meanwhile, earlier BTS tracks continue to gain traction. Songs such as ‘Yet To Come’ and ‘Love Maze’ surpassed 100 million cumulative streams as of December 2025 and received Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan, underscoring the group’s sustained catalog performance.

An Album Rooted in Identity and Return

According to HYBE, the renewed interest reflects fans revisiting BTS’s message-driven discography ahead of the group’s first full-team comeback in approximately three years and nine months. “Listeners appear to be reconnecting with BTS’s core themes and storytelling as the group prepares to return,” a HYBE representative said, pointing to the emotional and symbolic weight attached to ‘ARIRANG’.

The album is positioned as a reflection on the group’s origins, identity, and journey themes that have defined BTS’s global resonance.

Release Date Set for March

BTS will officially release ‘ARIRANG’ on March 20 at 1 p.m. KST, marking their return as a complete group following individual activities and military service.
