A Symbolic Return to the Olympic Stage

Sunghoon served as a torchbearer near Bollivar Station in Milan, where large crowds gathered well before his appearance. Fans filled the streets holding Korean flags and banners reading “Sunghoon, fighting,” creating a festive atmosphere that reflected both Olympic unity and K-pop’s global reach.

After receiving the Olympic flame, Sunghoon completed approximately 20 minutes of relay running, passing the torch amid cheers from spectators and fans. The moment carried special meaning for the artist, who trained as a figure skating national reserve athlete before debuting as an idol.

“Standing on an Olympic stage was once my dream as an athlete,” Sunghoon said. “To experience it now as a singer feels deeply emotional. I’m honored to be part of such a meaningful journey.”

Gratitude Toward Fans and Supporters

Sunghoon also expressed appreciation for those who came to support him on-site. “I received incredible energy from ENGENEs and sports fans alike,” he shared, referring to ENHYPEN’s fandom. “I’m truly grateful.”

His participation continues a long-standing connection with sports. In May last year, Sunghoon was appointed a public relations ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, reflecting his background and ongoing involvement in athletic initiatives.

ENHYPEN’s Ongoing Olympic Connection

ENHYPEN’s presence around the Olympics extends beyond the torch relay. The group’s track “Shout Out,” from their third mini album MANIFESTO : DAY 1, was previously selected as Team Korea’s official cheering song, further cementing the group’s association with international sporting events.
