“A Well-Cared-For Family”

Shin Hye-sun, who plays Sara Kim, responded thoughtfully. “Ordinary people build families and live their lives,” she said. “That in itself feels amazing, admirable, and even enviable to me. When I see a well-cared-for family, I think that’s the true luxury in life.”

Her answer resonated with the theme of the drama, which interrogates the idea of what it truly means to be “valuable” in a world obsessed with appearances.

“My Lack, and My Love for This Work”

Lee Jun-hyuk, who portrays detective Mu-gyeong, offered a contrasting but equally reflective response. “The most precious thing to me is my lack,” he said. “And my love for this profession. That’s what gives me the strength to keep going.”

His answer drew admiration from Shin Hye-sun on stage, highlighting the natural rapport between the two actors.

A Reunion Eight Years in the Making

‘The Art of Sarah’ marks Shin and Lee’s first project together since ‘Stranger’ (Forest of Secrets) eight years ago. Reflecting on their reunion, Shin described Lee as feeling like a “relative you don’t get to see often.”

Lee, however, responded with his own metaphor. “She’s like a rolling stone,” he said. “No moss grows on her. That’s why it felt natural meeting again.” The comment once again caught Shin off guard, prompting smiles from the audience.
