Jisoo as a Working Professional, Seo In-guk as the Ultimate Chemistry King — Boyfriend on Demand Reveals Character Stills

Netflix’s upcoming romantic comedy Boyfriend on Demand has unveiled its first character stills, offering a glimpse into the relatable, dopamine-boosting romance led by Jisoo and Seo In-guk.

Jisoo / Netflix

Jisoo as Mirae, the Relatable Office Worker

In the newly released stills, Jisoo fully embodies Mirae a young professional who has pushed romance far down her priority list. One image captures her commuting with a drained expression, noise-canceling headphones on, dozing off like countless office workers navigating the morning grind. Another shows Mirae shivering outdoors in winter, hinting at her unpredictable and often exhausting workdays.

The mood shifts in later images as Mirae curiously puts on the Boyfriend on Demand device, signaling her entry into a virtual world where idealized dates and emotional fulfillment await. What kind of romance unfolds once she steps inside remains one of the series’ biggest draws.

Jisoo described Mirae as “a very ordinary young adult who works hard and tries to find happiness in her own time,” adding that she focused on capturing the character’s emotional authenticity so viewers could easily see themselves in her journey.

Seo In-guk / Netflix

Seo In-guk’s Two-Sided Charm

Seo In-guk plays Gyeongnam, a popular and highly competent webtoon producer at the same studio and Mirae’s puzzling after-hours work companion. In the stills, Gyeongnam appears composed and untouchable while immersed in work, radiating the energy of a classic “office ace.” His distant gaze toward Mirae hints at a subtle tension between them.

Yet another image reveals his unexpected side: visibly drunk, disheveled, and endearingly vulnerable. This sharp contrast suggests layers beneath his stoic exterior and sets the stage for a dynamic, slow-burning relationship. Seo In-guk described Gyeongnam as “a character who seems blunt but is actually very delicate,” teasing both emotional reversals and comedic surprises.

A Story of Healing Through Love Real and Virtual

Director Kim Jung-sik emphasized that the core of Boyfriend on Demand lies in Mirae’s growth. “The most important point is how Mirae changes, and how her relationship with Gyeongnam evolves,” he said. “After being hurt by love in the real world, she enters a virtual one and gradually learns how to heal herself and find the courage to love again.”

By combining 현실 공감 (relatable reality) with a high-concept romantic fantasy, Monthly Boyfriend aims to resonate with viewers who crave both comfort and excitement.

Boyfriend on Demand , starring Jisoo and Seo In-guk, premieres March 6 exclusively on Netflix.
