Actress Krystal Jung is set to take on a striking new role as a privileged heiress in tvN’s upcoming weekend drama ‘Mad Concrete Dreams’, premiering March 14.

The suspense-driven series follows a struggling landlord who becomes entangled in a staged kidnapping in order to protect both his family and his building. The drama stars Ha Jung-woo, Lim Soo-jung, Kim Jun-han, Krystal Jung, and Shim Eun-kyung, promising a layered story that blends family tension with high-stakes drama.
Krystal plays Jeon Yi-kyung, the only daughter of a wealthy real estate investor and the wife of Min Hwal-seong (played by Kim Jun-han). On the surface, Yi-kyung appears to have it all elegance, wealth, and a picture-perfect life. Raised without want, she moves effortlessly through elite social circles, often seen at lavish parties and formal gatherings.
However, behind the polished image lies a sense of emotional emptiness. Though she maintains a calm and composed marriage with her husband, their relationship lacks depth. She also assists her powerful mother in managing large-scale real estate ventures, further reinforcing her image as someone born into privilege.
Despite her affluent background, Yi-kyung’s life takes an unexpected turn when she becomes closely involved with Gi Su-jong (Ha Jung-woo) and Kim Sun (Lim Soo-jung), particularly caring for their hearing-impaired daughter, Dara, as if she were her own child. This bond introduces warmth into her otherwise controlled world but it also sets the stage for unforeseen conflict.
Newly released stills from the drama highlight Krystal’s transformation. Dressed in refined, statement fashion pieces, she radiates poise and confidence. Yet subtle shifts in her expression hint at the emotional turbulence her character will soon face.
According to the production team, Krystal will showcase a deeper and more intense side of her acting through Yi-kyung’s unraveling journey. “Within the tension-filled narrative of the drama, Krystal reveals a new face. Please look forward to how she portrays Yi-kyung’s dramatic transformation,” the team stated.
‘Mad Concrete Dreams’ premieres March 14 at 9:10 p.m. KST on tvN, marking what could be one of Krystal’s most compelling roles to date.
