Citing investment banking and real estate industry sources, Hankyung TV reported that Jennie acquired a property located in Dongbinggo-dong, Yongsan District, in May of last year. Ownership transfer was reportedly completed in December.

According to the report, no mortgage or collateral registration appears on the building’s official registry, leading to speculation that the transaction may have been completed in cash. However, neither Jennie nor her agency has publicly commented on the purchase.

Property Details and Location

The building, originally completed in 1970, is located in the northern part of Dongbinggo-dong, an area known for its concentration of ambassadorial residences. The property was previously used as the Iraqi Embassy in Korea.

It sits on a land area of 595 square meters, with a total floor area of 551.08 square meters, spanning one basement level and two above-ground floors. The reported price per pyeong (3.3㎡) is approximately ₩111 million.

The surrounding area has drawn attention due to large-scale redevelopment projects, including the Hannam New Town redevelopment plan, Yongsan Park development, and the transformation of former U.S. military sites factors that real estate analysts say could contribute to future value growth.

Expanding Real Estate Portfolio

Jennie has previously been noted for her real estate investments. In 2023, she purchased a luxury villa in UN Village, “La Terrasse Hannam,” for ₩5 billion in what was also reported as an all-cash deal.

Last year, she also leased an entire newly constructed building in Hannam-dong to serve as the office for her independent label, Odd Atelier (OA). Monthly rent for the property has been reported to exceed ₩60 million.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to release their third mini-album, ‘Deadline,’ on February 27.
