ITZY’s Ryujin is continuing her rapid transition into acting, with the idol-turned-actress reportedly considering a role in the upcoming film High School Detective.
According to an industry report on February 27, Ryujin has received an offer to appear in the movie and is currently reviewing the proposal.
High School Detective follows a police officer who goes undercover as a student to investigate incidents inside a high school, blending youth drama with crime and action elements. If she accepts the role, it would mark another major step in building her screen career.

Ryujin has already completed filming for The Night on Earth (working title), which will be her first official project as a lead actress and is now awaiting release.
She also recently confirmed her appearance in the film Razor, signaling her commitment to acting. With High School Detective added to the list of potential projects, she is quickly establishing a steady presence in the film industry.
Although many K-pop idols move into television first, Ryujin’s path is notable for being centered on the big screen, suggesting a long-term focus on cinema.

Since debuting with ITZY in 2019, Ryujin has gained global recognition through hits such as
“DALLA DALLA,”
“ICY,”
“WANNABE,”
“Not Shy,”
“SNEAKERS,”
“UNTOUCHABLE,”
and “TUNNEL VISION.”
Known for her powerful stage presence and performance skills, she is now channeling that experience into acting, broadening her artistic range.
Her first on-screen appearance dates back to a brief role in the 2017 film The King, but her recent projects show a clear shift toward building a serious acting résumé.

With multiple film projects either completed, confirmed or under discussion, Ryujin is moving at an unusually fast pace for a new actress.
If she joins High School Detective, the project is expected to further solidify her position as one of the most active idol-actors of her generation on the big screen.
