At the 23rd Korean Music Awards (KMA), held on February 26, BLACKPINK’s Jennie has secured a double victory at one of Korea’s most prestigious music ceremonies.

Jennie’s first full length solo album ‘Ruby’ was named Best K-Pop Album. The project marked a significant milestone in her career, as she actively participated in the album’s production process. Through ‘Ruby’, Jennie explored multiple genres while embedding her own artistic identity, showcasing her versatility and growth beyond group activities. The win highlights not only the album’s commercial impact but also its musical depth and creative direction.
In addition to the album award, the title track ‘like JENNIE’ earned Best K-Pop Song.
The track was praised for balancing strong musicality with mainstream appeal a combination that resonated with both critics and the public. Jennie had previously been nominated in five categories, including Musician of the Year and Album of the Year, further underscoring her influence within the industry.
Often referred to as “Korea’s Grammys,” the Korean Music Awards are known for emphasizing artistic achievement and musical excellence rather than just commercial performance alone.
With two trophies from the prestigious ceremony, Jennie strengthens her reputation as not only a global K-pop star but also a respected solo artist in the broader music landscape.
