Shin Min-a has shared a deeply personal look at her life, career and mindset in a recent interview with W Korea, revealing how years in the industry have reshaped her definition of success, rest and emotional balance.
The actor described her current days as peaceful rather than eventful, finding meaning in stability and ordinary routines instead of chasing something extraordinary.
Rather than measuring happiness through constant achievement, she said she now values uneventful days and the ability to rest well something she considers essential for maintaining both her health and her career.

Reflecting on her long career, Shin Min-a explained that her biggest realization is learning not to attach excessive meaning to outcomes.
“No matter how hard you work, the result can be disappointing. Sometimes you do the same and it turns out great,” she said.
Instead of overanalyzing success or failure, she has adopted a simple approach:
“If it rains, you think ‘It’s raining, I need an umbrella.’ If it’s sunny, you think ‘What a beautiful day.’ I try to accept every result like the weather. That’s how you endure in the long run.”
This mindset, she noted, is something many people who have stayed in one profession for a long time eventually come to understand.

Looking back at her film debut Volcano High, she expressed curiosity about how a new generation might react to it today.
Her more recent work, including the Netflix series Karma, shows a starkly different side of her emotionally intense characters shaped by trauma and anger highlighting how her acting spectrum has expanded over time.

Shin Min-a also spoke about her upcoming Disney+ series The Remarried Empress, based on one of the most popular web novels and webtoons.
She described the role of Navier as a character with both charisma and strong relatability for women, adding that the entire production team felt the weight of adapting such a beloved original work.
After spending about six months filming the series, she said she is now waiting with excitement to see the final result.

For Shin Min-a, maintaining physical and mental health has become the core of her philosophy.
She admitted she is someone who needs to rest properly and often spends her time off quietly at home to preserve her energy for future projects.
This careful self-management, she believes, is what allows her to continue performing at her best.
While she acknowledged that she cannot completely let go of thoughts about aging, she now sees it as an opportunity rather than a fear.
As the range of roles offered to her changes, she gains access to characters she could not have played before — something she considers one of the most rewarding parts of her career.
Despite her calm exterior, she emphasized that she still has strong ambition and a desire to keep moving forward.
“I’ve never been tired of this job,” she said, adding that the coexistence of joy and stress has simply become part of her life.
Through it all, her core belief remains unchanged: doing her work with the same sincerity she had at the beginning and accepting the results as they come.
