BIGBANG may soon return to the stage to celebrate one of the most significant achievement in K-pop history. According to YG Entertainment founder and executive producer Yang Hyun-suk, discussions with the members have already led to an agreement to hold a 20th anniversary concert this year.

On March 4, YG Entertainment released its “2026 YG PLAN” through the company’s official blog this being Yang Hyun-suk’s first interview in about six months.
In the interview, Yang Hyun-suk confirmed that BIGBANG and YG are preparing for a special anniversary event. “We have reached an agreement with the BIGBANG members to hold a concert,” Yang Hyun-suk said “We’ve worked together for so long that I don’t expect major difficulties. All YG staff will do their best to create a perfect and memorable performance.” The concert would celebrate the group’s 20 year journey in music, a rare achievement in the fast moving K-pop industry.”
BIGBANG debuted in 2006 and quickly became one of the most influential groups in Korean pop music shaping what we now know as K-pop. Over the years, the group helped define the YG sound, made self producing idol groups a standard, and built a global fanbase with hits such as Haru Haru, Fantastic Baby, and Bang Bang Bang.
Therefore a 20th anniversary concert carries a deeper meaning. It would not only celebrate the group’s career but also highlight the long standing relationship between BIGBANG and the YG “family” brand that shaped much of the second generation K-pop.
For many fans, the possibility of seeing BIGBANG perform together again represents a rare moment of nostalgia for one of the genre’s most influential eras.
The anniversary concert is part of a broader roadmap unveiled in the 2026 YG PLAN. Yang Hyun-suk also confirmed major activities for the company’s current artists.
Rookie group BABYMONSTER is expected to stay active throughout the year planning to release a mini album in May and a full length album in Fall.
YG revealed that the upcoming mini album’s title track will be called “CHOOM” (Dance), describing the typography of the Korean word “춤” as visually striking and symbolic of a figure dancing with arms spread wide. BABYMONSTER will also launch a second world tour starting in June, expanding to South America, Europe, and Oceania.
Meanwhile, TREASURE is preparing a new mini album scheduled for June, which Yang Hyun-suk described as the beginning of the group’s “second act.” According to him, the members themselves requested a stronger hip hop direction, which will shape the upcoming music. “When you hear the new album, you may be surprised to see a different side of TREASURE something very YG style that they’ve never shown before.”
The interview also confirmed that YG is continuing to develop new artists. According to the company: a new boy group is being prepared and is being expected to debut later this year in Fall. The company’s upcoming four member girl group, for now being called “Next Monster,” will soon reveal its remaining two members.
The announcements come at a meaningful time for the company itself.
2026 marks YG Entertainment’s 30th anniversary, and Yang Hyun-suk emphasized that the company intends to keep focusing on music for decades to come. “Rather than focusing on the past, I want YG to keep moving forward toward the 40th and 50th anniversaries while continuing to create music with the same passion.”
