IVE member Gaeul is stepping into a different kind of spotlight taking up a new challange. The idol will appear as a new face on Netflix’s psychological survival show ‘Death Game: Bet 10 Million Won,’ where every match is decided through a single one on one battle of strategy and intelligence.
The upcoming episode will have Gaeul go against divorce lawyer Yang Narae, setting up a match that fans are already calling one of the show’s most intriguing face offs.

According to the preview released for Episode 6, Gaeul will enter the game as the next opponent after Yang Narae secured her first victory.
The two will face off in Episode 7, scheduled for release on March 4, in a high stakes 1 on 1 “brain match.” Unlike many survival programs that rely on alliances or team dynamics, ‘Death Game’ follows a strict format: Each episode features only one match and the game is decided entirely through strategy and intellect. The winner receives 10 million won (about $7,500) and advances to the next round while the loser is eliminated immediately
Since its premiere in January, the show has gained attention for its psychological gameplay and intense mind games between contestants from different professions.
Gaeul’s participation is drawing attention because she represents a very different background from most contestants.
While many players on the show come from professional fields such as law, academia, or business, Gaeul enters as a K-pop performer known for her calm personality and analytical thinking. That contrast makes the matchup particularly interesting: an idol recognized for her quiet focus versus a lawyer trained in argument and strategy.
Fans are especially curious to see whether Gaeul’s observational skills and composure will give her an advantage in a game built around psychological pressure.
Outside of music activities, Gaeul has often shown another side of her.
She recently launched her personal YouTube channel ‘Gaeul’s Temperature,’ where she spoke about her love of mystery novels and reading, revealing a side of herself that enjoys puzzles and deductive thinking. Those interests could prove surprisingly useful in a competition built on logic and mind games.
Gaeul’s appearance on Death Game also arrives during a busy period for IVE. The group recently released its second full album ‘REVIVE+,’ continuing the strong momentum of the so-called “IVE syndrome.” The album’s double pre release tracks “BANG BANG” and “BLACKHOLE” showcased the group’s expanding musical style.
