One of K-pop’s most beloved project groups is officially preparing for a long awaited return in almost 10 years. I.O.I is launching their anniversary comeback teasing a series of upcoming projects.

A Reunion Nearly a Decade Later

The project marks the group’s first reunion activities since their disbandment in 2017, making it nearly nine years since fans last saw the full lineup together. The group consists of:

The reunion was first revealed earlier this year, quickly becoming a major topic among K-pop fans who had long hoped for the group to return together.

Through the newly opened social media channels, the group plans to gradually release updates related to their 10th anniversary album, which is scheduled for release in May. The accounts also announced a fan participation event, inviting supporters to submit ideas for the group’s fandom name as part of the anniversary project.

Although I.O.I promoted together for only about a year, the group left a lasting mark on K-pop with songs like “Very Very Very” and “Dream Girls”. Their upcoming anniversary project now represents more than just a comeback for many fans, it’s a chance to revisit a defining moment in second generation survival show K-pop history.

Alongside the album release, I.O.I is preparing a series of performances beginning with a concert in Seoul. The group plans to expand the celebrations with a tour across Asia, giving international fans the chance to experience the reunion live.
