The8 is Headlining a major festival alone and this is a new achievement that might shape entirely his path as artist. On March 24, PLEDIS Entertainment confirmed that The8 will perform at the MIDOU Music Festival in Nanjing, China, taking place from May 1 to 2.
For fans, this isn’t just another appearance. It’s a sign of how far The8 has come as a solo artist.

MIDOU Music Festival is one of China’s major music events, first launched in 2014 and now in its 15th edition.
Last year alone, the festival drew over 80,000 and 60,000 attendees across two events making it a large scale stage where only standout artists are invited. And this time, The8 isn’t just part of the lineup.
He’s performing as a headliner.
This will mark The8’s second appearance at a music festival as a solo artist, following his performance at the YJ Music Festival in September 2025.
At the time, he showcased not just singing and dancing but also DJing, highlighting his versatility beyond idol performances. Since then, his solo identity has continued to grow. The8 has steadily built his musical profile through original releases, including tracks like ‘Side by Side’ ,‘Falling Down’, ‘Dreams Come True’ and ‘Hai Cheng’
His first Chinese EP ‘STARDUST’ further solidified that direction, with The8 credited across all tracks as a songwriter and composer. This creative involvement has positioned him not just as a performer, but as an artist shaping his own sound.

Headlining a major festival carries a different kind of weight. It’s not just about performing it’s about holding the stage alone, commanding a large audience without the support of a group.
While expanding his solo presence, The8 continues to be active with SEVENTEEN. The group is currently on a world tour, with encore concerts scheduled for April 4–5 in Incheon.
