BLACKPINK’s Jisoo has issued a formal response to the family-related controversy surrounding her older brother, making it clear that neither she nor her agency BLISSOO is connected to the case now under public scrutiny.

On April 20, attorney Eun Hyun-ho of Kim & Chang, speaking on behalf of Jisoo, released an official statement saying the issue currently being raised has “nothing to do with Jisoo or BLISSOO.”
The statement followed reports that police in Seoul’s Gangnam district had arrested a man identified as Kim on April 14 on suspicion of forcibly molesting a female BJ. As speculation spread online that the suspect was the brother of a famous idol, Jisoo’s name was pulled into the controversy.
Jisoo’s side said she had not been aware of her brother’s private circumstances. According to the statement, Jisoo spent much of her youth away from home after beginning trainee life at an early age, which meant she was not in a position to know about or intervene in his personal matters.
Her side also moved to correct what it described as distorted rumors. Claims that Jisoo founded BLISSOO together with her brother, or that he served as an executive or chief executive of the company, were described as false.
The statement acknowledged that Jisoo did receive some limited advice and practical help from him during the early setup of the company. However, her side stressed that he was never paid, never took part in management decisions, and has had no legal or business relationship with BLISSOO. The company, it said, has been run independently.
Jisoo’s representatives further emphasized that she is not providing him with financial or legal support, does not have any exchange with him, and has no plans to offer such support going forward.

Jisoo’s side also announced plans for a strong response against false information.
The statement said any act of spreading false rumors or tying Jisoo’s name, likeness, or image to a matter unrelated to her would be met with both civil and criminal legal action.
Meanwhile, Kim has denied the allegation of forced molestation.
According to the report, he admitted there had been physical contact during the incident but insisted that there had been no coercion and that the contact was consensual.
With the case still under dispute, Jisoo’s message was focused on one point above all: whatever happens in the legal case involving her brother, she does not want it treated as her scandal.
The key point in Jisoo’s response is not emotion, but separation. Rather than trying to comment on the case in broad terms, her side is carefully drawing a line between one person’s legal trouble and another person’s public identity. That approach matters because celebrity scandals involving family can quickly become guilt by association stories. By addressing the rumors around BLISSOO, financial support, and personal involvement all at once, her statement is really trying to stop the controversy from expanding beyond the person actually under investigation.
