On April 27, ADOR addressed the growing buzz, saying the activity in Denmark is part of a pre-production process for NewJeans’ next musical chapter. The agency said the work is intended to help shape the group’s new narrative and added that the members are currently preparing for future activities according to their individual conditions and schedules.

While ADOR stopped short of confirming a comeback timeline, the statement was enough to intensify attention around what may be the group’s next major step.

Why Copenhagen suddenly became a focal point

The speculation began after online communities circulated eyewitness claims that Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni had been seen filming in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Interest grew further when reports surfaced that the name ADOR had allegedly appeared on the schedule of a recording studio in the city. Together, those details fueled talk that NewJeans could be entering a serious preparation phase for new music.

ADOR did not directly confirm the exact nature of the work being done there, but its use of the phrase “pre-production” gave the reports a more concrete shape than simple rumor.

Even with the agency’s acknowledgment, ADOR left the bigger questions unanswered.

The company said the members are each getting ready for future activities based on their current condition and optimized schedules, but added that any update on their next official moves would be shared “at the best possible time.” That wording suggests preparations may be underway, but that the group’s return is still being managed carefully rather than rushed into the public eye.

The possible comeback comes after a long dispute

Any sign of movement from NewJeans is drawing extra attention because of the group’s ongoing conflict with ADOR.

Since November 2024, the members have been in dispute with the agency after claiming their exclusive contracts should be terminated. However, after a court recognized the validity of those contracts, some members have reportedly begun moving toward a return under ADOR.

According to the report, Haerin and Hyein have already expressed their intention to return, while Hanni is also said to be leaning in that direction. Minji is reportedly still in discussions with the agency.

Danielle remains a separate and more complicated case

The situation surrounding Danielle appears more serious and more legally entangled.

According to the report, ADOR notified Danielle of contract termination in December last year. The agency has also filed a lawsuit seeking a total of 43.1 billion won in penalty payments and damages against Danielle, one of her family members, and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. That means any broader group activity remains tied not only to creative preparation, but also to unresolved legal and management questions.

A comeback rumor that now feels more real

For now, ADOR has not officially announced a comeback date, album title, or release strategy.

But by confirming that the Copenhagen activity is part of NewJeans’ music-related pre-production, the agency has given weight to what had previously been treated as online speculation.

That alone makes this development significant.

After months of uncertainty, NewJeans are no longer being discussed only through the lens of legal conflict. They are once again being discussed in connection with music and for fans, that may be the biggest shift of all.
