The “BTS Effect” is official. As the global superstars bring their North American tour to Texas, El Paso County has rolled out the red carpet, honoring the group with a special award and city-wide celebration.
BTS continues to prove that they are more than just a musical group they are a global cultural and economic force. On April 28, Big Hit Music announced that the El Paso County Commissioners Court in Texas has officially honored BTS with the prestigious ‘Estimado Amigo’ (Esteemed Friend) Award.

The excitement surrounding the concerts is backed by hard data. Brooke Underwood, Director of the El Paso Tourism Board, estimated that the two-day concert series is expected to generate an economic impact of approximately $75 million (roughly 110.5 billion KRW).
This staggering figure highlights the sheer scale of the “BTS Effect,” where the group’s arrival in a city translates into immediate, substantial growth for local hospitality, transportation, and retail sectors.

BTS is currently in the midst of their ‘BTS World Tour: Arirang in North America.’ Following a successful three-night residency at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, the group is now preparing to make history at the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso. This performance is particularly significant, as BTS will become the first-ever Korean act to hold a solo concert at the historic venue.
With their music resonating across continents and their tours reshaping local economies, BTS remains a cultural bridge, proving that their influence is truly boundless.
