“Happy Haerin Day” NewJeans’ Official SNS Suddenly Feels Active Again, and Fans Think a Comeback May Be Near

A simple birthday post has now become one of the most talked-about topics among NewJeans fans.

On May 15, ADOR uploaded new photos of member Haerin to the group’s official Instagram account alongside the message: “HAPPY HAERIN DAY.” The post featured several candid-style images of Haerin taken in different locations including the beach, indoor spaces, and city streets. While the photos themselves appeared calm and casual, the reaction online was anything but quiet.

For many fans, the biggest story was not just the birthday celebration it was the growing feeling that NewJeans’ official channels are becoming active again after a long period of silence.

Fans Notice NewJeans’ Social Media Slowly Returning

The Haerin update marks the third member-focused post uploaded since NewJeans’ official social media accounts unexpectedly resumed activity earlier this year.

The group’s channels had remained largely inactive for approximately six months following a 3rd anniversary post uploaded in October last year. Then, on April 21, ADOR posted birthday content for Hyein, signaling the first major update after the silence.

Another birthday post for Minji followed on May 7, despite ongoing discussions regarding her future activities. Now, Haerin’s birthday update has only intensified speculation that preparations for NewJeans’ eventual return may already be underway behind the scenes.

Copenhagen Sightings Sparked Earlier Comeback Rumors

The comeback rumors first gained momentum after online sightings of Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni in Copenhagen, Denmark spread across social media in late April. At the time, ADOR addressed the situation by explaining that the trip was connected to “pre-production work for a new musical narrative.” The company also stated that each member was preparing schedules tailored to their individual condition and activities, while adding that future plans would be officially announced “at the right time.”

Although no official comeback date has been confirmed, fans immediately interpreted the statement as a sign that NewJeans’ long-awaited return was beginning to take shape.

Legal Situation Nears Conclusion

Much of the group’s future has remained uncertain due to the highly publicized legal conflict between ADOR and the members.

However, legal proceedings appear to be stabilizing. Last October, the Seoul Central District Court ruled that the exclusive contracts between ADOR and the NewJeans members remained legally valid. None of the five members appealed the first ruling, meaning the decision effectively became final. ADOR later confirmed the return of Haerin and Hyein in November, while Hanni reportedly returned to the agency earlier this year.

The company continues to state that discussions regarding Minji are progressing “positively.” Meanwhile, ADOR has also filed a massive damages lawsuit worth approximately 43.1 billion won against former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin, Danielle, and one family member connected to Danielle. The first hearing for that case took place on May 14.

Why Fans Are Reading Into Every Small Update

What makes the current situation especially emotional for fans is that even small updates now carry enormous meaning.

A birthday post that might once have felt routine is now being analyzed for signs of reunion, comeback timing, and group activity. That reflects how deeply attached global fans remain to NewJeans despite the uncertainty surrounding the group over the past year.
