NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is not only making headlines in Korea for business meetings and public appearances. This time, he surprised K-pop fans by revealing his admiration for Hwasa.

During his first appearance on the tvN variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’ Huang drew attention after mentioning that he listens to K-pop while working and personally naming Hwasa as one of the artists he enjoys. A preview clip of the episode was shared on the official Instagram account of ‘You Quiz on the Block’ on June 7, with the caption highlighting Huang’s unexpected shout-out to the MAMAMOO member.

Jensen Huang Shows His K-Pop Side on ‘You Quiz’

In the preview, Huang appeared in his signature black leather jacket and immediately created a lively mood by lightly dancing to ‘Golden,’ a song from Netflix’s animated project ‘KPop Demon Hunters.’

When host Yoo Jae-suk asked whether it was true that he often listens to K-pop while working, Huang responded enthusiastically. He said it would be hard to find someone who does not like ‘Golden,’ praising the song as a great album.

But the bigger surprise came moments later, when he brought up Hwasa.

Huang Praises Hwasa’s Music and Performance

Huang said he deeply loves Hwasa’s music and mentioned her songs directly, including ‘Good Goodbye’ and her recent release ‘So Cute’.

He also praised Hwasa as both a strong dancer and a talented vocalist, showing that his interest was not just casual. His specific mention of ‘So Cute,’ which was released in April, quickly caught attention because it suggested he has been keeping up with her latest music.

Yoo Jae-suk reacted with surprise, asking whether Huang even knew Hwasa’s new song. He then jokingly said Hwasa must be happy and predicted that ‘So Cute’ could gain renewed attention after the mention.

Why the Shout-Out Became a Hot Topic

Huang’s comment stood out because it came from one of the world’s most influential tech leaders.

As the CEO of NVIDIA, Huang is often discussed in relation to artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and global business. Seeing him openly talk about K-pop and praise a Korean artist gave fans a different and more personal glimpse of his interests.

His appearance also showed how far Korean pop culture has spread beyond traditional entertainment audiences. K-pop is now part of the listening habits of global business leaders, tech figures, and cultural tastemakers.

Jensen Huang’s Busy Korea Visit

Huang has been making several public appearances during his visit to Korea.

On June 5, he reportedly had dinner near Hongdae in Seoul with major Korean business leaders, including SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Chung Euisun, LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, and Naver founder Lee Hae-jin.

On June 7, he also threw the ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game between the Doosan Bears and the Kiwoom Heroes at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.

He later met with SK Telecom CEO Jung Jae-hun at a Kkanbu Chicken location, continuing his series of high-profile meetings and public moments in Korea.

Hwasa Gets an Unexpected Global Shout-Out

Hwasa has long been recognized for her distinctive voice, confident stage presence, and bold musical style. But Huang’s unexpected praise added a new layer of attention to her latest activities.

For fans, the moment was both funny and surprising: one of the most powerful names in global technology casually naming Hwasa’s new song on Korean television.

With ‘So Cute’ now receiving an unexpected boost from Jensen Huang himself, Hwasa may have gained one of the most surprising celebrity fans of the year.
