Transforming Into a Cold Chaebol for Netflix’s ‘Viking’

Turning to his thriving acting career, Lee Junho is currently gearing up to showcase a completely different side of himself through the upcoming highly anticipated Netflix original series, Viking. He takes on the complex role of Han Ji-yeol, a cold-hearted, highly rational strategist who happens to be a third-generation tycoon heir.

To separate this role from his wildly successful character Gu Won in the hit rom-com King the Land, Junho has gone to great lengths, including undergoing a strict weight loss routine:

• The Character Shift: Junho explained that while both characters are wealthy tycoons, Han Ji-yeol possesses a dry, calculating, and incredibly icy personality. To naturally reflect that external coldness, he intentionally lost weight to look sharper.
• Working with Ju Ji-hoon: Viking also features an exciting partnership with veteran actor Ju Ji-hoon. Junho highly praised his co-star, stating that Ju Ji-hoon’s natural concentration and on-set energy are incredible, adding that their acting chemistry has been smooth and fun since day one.
