Red Velvet is officially preparing to return as a full group, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated K-pop comebacks of the summer.
The SM Entertainment girl group has confirmed that it will release a new album in August, marking Red Velvet’s first full-group comeback in about two years and two months since ‘Cosmic’ was released in June 2024.
The news immediately drew excitement from fans, as Red Velvet has long been recognized for its unique musical identity, elegant concepts, and wide-ranging sound that moves between bright pop, velvet-smooth R&B, and experimental K-pop.

The upcoming August release will mark a meaningful new chapter for Red Velvet.
Since debuting, the group has built a reputation as one of K-pop’s most distinctive acts, earning the nickname “K-pop queens” through hit songs, strong vocals, and concepts that balance both playful and mature moods.
Their return as a full group is expected to attract attention not only from longtime fans, but also from global listeners who have been waiting for new music from the complete lineup.
Alongside the comeback news, Red Velvet also revealed plans for a special fan-con titled ‘2026 Red Velvet FAN-CON A Day in Red & Velvet.’
On June 15, a poster announcing the event schedule was released through Red Velvet’s official fan club community and social media accounts.
The fan-con will take place at Korea University’s Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul on August 1 at 6 p.m. and August 2 at 4 p.m.
The event is expected to feature performances that highlight Red Velvet’s broad musical spectrum, as well as various segments designed for fans.
The timing of the fan-con adds extra meaning.
The first day of the event, August 1, falls on Red Velvet’s debut anniversary. That means the group will celebrate its 12th debut anniversary together with fans in person.
For ReVeluvs, the event is likely to become more than a comeback-related performance. It will also serve as a rare chance to celebrate Red Velvet’s long career, group identity, and connection with fans after an extended break from full-group activities.
Ticket sales for ‘A Day in Red & Velvet’ will be held through Melon Ticket.
Domestic fan club pre-sales will open on June 18 at 8 p.m. KST, followed by global pre-sales on June 22 at 8 p.m. KST. General ticket sales will begin on June 23 at 8 p.m. KST.
With Red Velvet’s full-group comeback and anniversary fan-con arriving in the same month, August is shaping up to be a major moment for the group and its fans.

Red Velvet’s upcoming album and fan-con are expected to mark the group’s full-scale return to the spotlight.
After more than two years since ‘Cosmic,’ the August comeback will give fans a new chapter from one of K-pop’s most established girl groups.
As anticipation builds, all eyes are now on what kind of sound, concept, and performance Red Velvet will bring for its long-awaited full-group return.
