The popular actor Kim Mu-yeol has shared a touching, emotional story about breaking down in tears with his wife, actress Yoon Seung-ah, after learning his new series hit No. 1 worldwide. On June 26, 2026, tvN’s variety show You Quiz on the Block released a heartwarming preview video on its official channels titled, “The story of why Kim Mu-yeol and Yoon Seung-ah hugged each other and sobbed after hearing the news of Teach You a Lesson hitting No. 1 globally.”

During the interview, Kim Mu-yeol opened up about the exact moment he realized his Netflix original series, Teach You a Lesson (Chamgyoyuk), had topped the international charts.
He recalled:
“I first got the call from our director telling me that we reached the number one spot. Right after I hung up, my wife arrived back home after picking up our son. I rushed straight down to the parking lot to tell her the news. As soon as I said, ‘They said we are number one in the world,’ the words just choked up in my throat. I was so incredibly overwhelmed with emotion—and since I was standing right in front of my wife—the tears just started pouring out. We just held each other tight and sobbed right there in the parking lot. It’s a moment I will never forget.”
The 44-year-old actor added that this shared memory will give him strength for the rest of his life. “As a married couple, we might face difficult times again in the future. But remembering how we held each other and cried tears of joy will give me so much strength to keep moving forward,” he shared genuinely.

Yoon Seung-ah, who also appeared in the video clip, shed tears as she looked back at her husband’s long acting journey.
“He is really not the type of person who cries easily. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve ever seen him cry, but he broke down for the first time that day and kept telling me ‘thank you,'” she shared.
She added with deep affection: “Because I have personally stood right by his side, watching both our shared time and his individual years as an actor, it felt incredibly special. I think I just looked at him and said one phrase: ‘You suffered so much.’ That was the very first thought that came to my mind, and that was the one thing I truly wanted to tell him.” Arthur.
The beautiful couple officially tied the knot back in 2015 and welcomed their first son in 2023. Following his incredible breakout success on Netflix, Kim Mu-yeol’s emotional story has deeply touched fans, who are flooding social media to congratulate the hard-working star on his well-deserved global success.
