BTS's 5th studio album 'Arirang' track 'NORMAL' re-enters UK Official Chart at No. 36... No. 1 in single sales and downloads

BTS has been achieving a resurgence on global charts since performing at the halftime show of the ’2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup’ final held at the New Jersey Stadium in New York on the 19th. The track ″NORMAL″ from their 5th full-length album ’ARIRANG’ re-entered the UK Official Charts (week of July 24–30) at number 36 on the Official Singles Top 100. It was the highest-ranking newly returning song on the chart this week, and it ranked 4th on the Official Trending Chart (as of July 21), which reflects the increase in sales. Additionally, it topped both the Official Singles Sales and Official Singles Downloads charts. With this, BTS has increased their number of number-one songs on the Official Singles Sales chart to seven for group tracks. ″Dynamite,″ released in 2020, and the recently released ″Come Over″ also re-entered the two charts at numbers 33 and 65, respectively. In particular, ″Dynamite″ has been gaining renewed attention and climbing the charts following the halftime show performance. On the day of the performance, Google Trends searches for the keyword ″BTS″ increased approximately fourfold compared to usual, and Spotify recorded over 30 million streams. This is the highest number of streams among all artists who have participated in World Cup halftime shows, including Madonna, Shakira, and Justin Bieber. Streaming of ″Dynamite″ increased by 105% compared to before the performance. On Spotify’s latest Weekly Top Songs Global chart (for July 17–23), ″NORMAL″ also returned to the rankings at number 24. The 5th full-length album ’ARIRANG’ showed stable results on major charts, ranking 41st on the UK Official Albums Top 100, 21st on the Official Physical Albums, 24th on the Official Album Sales, 26th on the Official Scottish Albums, and 54th on the Official Album Streaming charts. The title track ″SWIM″ rose 10 spots from the previous week to number 52 on the Official Physical Singles chart. ’ARIRANG’ maintained its 2nd place for six consecutive weeks on Spotify’s Weekly Top Albums Global chart, while ″SWIM″ held the 8th position. Other tracks such as ″Body to Body,″ ″2.0,″ and ″Hooligan″ also maintained their chart positions. ESPN praised the performance as ″the most polished stage among this halftime show,″ and ABC Australia reported it was ″an immersive performance that made the short duration feel even shorter.″ Meanwhile, BTS recorded the highest-selling album in the K-pop album market for the first half of this year.
