Jungkook's 'NORMAL' ranks No. 1 on US iTunes... Most K-pop solo songs to top the chart with 3 tracks

BTS Jungkook’s participation in ’NORMAL (Korean Ver.) [Instant Photo Alternate Cover Jung Kook Version]’ has topped the US iTunes Top Songs chart. ’NORMAL (Korean Ver.) [Instant Photo Alternate Cover Jung Kook Version]’ sung by Jungkook ranked number one on the iTunes Top Songs charts in 24 countries and regions, including the United States. The US is the number one country in the world in terms of music market size and the number of iTunes and Apple Music subscribers, accounting for 37% of the total global subscribers. As of 2026, a total of seven K-pop songs have reached number one on the US iTunes main singles chart, three of which are Jungkook’s solo versions. These three songs are all March releases related to BTS’s 5th full album ’ARIRANG’, including ’NORMAL (Korean Ver.) [Instant Photo Alternate Cover Jung Kook Version]’, ’SWIM (Alternative Cover Jung Kook ver.)’, and ’SWIM with Jung Kook (Acoustic Lofi Remix) Alternative Cover Ver.’ Jungkook’s strength was also evident in physical album sales. According to data released by the major US retailer Target in March, among the BTS ’ARIRANG’ member editions, Jungkook’s ’Orchid’ vinyl sold more than 37,000 copies in one month, ranking first in member-specific sales. The Target edition was sold out six times. In 2023, Jungkook became the first K-pop solo artist to achieve ten number one songs on US iTunes. The songs include ’Standing Next To You’, ’Standing Next To You Future Funk Remix’, ’3D’, ’3D Remix’, ’Seven’, ’Still With You’, ’Dreamers’, ’Stay Alive’, ’Left and Right’, and ’TOO MUCH’. Additionally, Jungkook’s first solo album ’GOLDEN’ ranked third among debut albums by Asian artists on US iTunes at the time of its release.
