Red Velvet to Release 'Velvet Summer' Highlight Medley on July 27... Joy Participates in Writing Title Track 'Surfin' Boy'

Red Velvet has released a highlight medley video for their summer mini-album ″Velvet Summer,″ marking their first full-group comeback in about 2 years and 2 months. The highlight medley video, released at midnight on the 27th through Red Velvet’s official SNS, features snippets of five tracks along with illustrations of turning pages. The video begins with ″Orchestra,″ a reinterpretation of American film composer Henry Mancini’s ″Lujon,″ introducing a song that likens the emotional changes of two people in love to an orchestral performance. Next is ″Hot Girls Cold Vibe,″ capturing the cool energy of ″hot″ girls enjoying a summer night drive, followed by the acoustic pop ″Hawaii,″ which depicts freedom in Hawaii away from the repetitive daily routine. The medium-tempo pop ″Hula Hoop,″ which sings about summer memories with a fateful reunion, is also included in the video. The title track ″Surfin’ Boy″ previews Red Velvet’s new summer sound with a refreshing blend of bossa nova guitar, reggae rhythm, and house groove. Member Joy participated in writing the lyrics, which tell a story of reminiscing about summer spent with a precious person and creating brilliant memories once again. ″Velvet Summer″ consists of a total of five songs. The entire album will be released on various music platforms at 6 PM on August 3, and the physical album will also be released on the same day.
