Jihyun Park reveals her top Mokpo hongeo preparation skills on 'Radio Star'... including dance medley and boxing experience

Singer Park Ji-hyun appeared on MBC’s ″Radio Star,″ sharing her experience of preparing about 60,000 skate fish before her debut and revealing her recent busy activities. On ″Radio Star,″ Park Ji-hyun revealed that she helped her parents with their seafood business for about six years before her debut, preparing over 60,000 skate fish. She said she was so familiar with preparing skate fish that she could do it with her eyes closed, and actually surprised everyone by attempting to prepare skate fish blindfolded in the studio. Park Ji-hyun explained that all her maternal relatives were involved in the seafood industry, and she naturally started working in it to help her mother. Recently, Park Ji-hyun said she handles more than 20 events a month while simultaneously managing a nationwide tour and working on drama OSTs. She added that she has been busy traveling long distances from Mokpo to Samcheok. She expressed amazement at the moment when several staff members rush toward her as she comes down to change costumes during performances, and honestly shared her feelings, saying, ″I feel like I’ve really become a celebrity″ while looking at herself in a full-length mirror. When asked about her popularity in her hometown Mokpo, she said that during her participation in a competition program, banners with her image were hung all over Mokpo, adding, ″It was all me. I thought it was my country.″ When asked who is number one in Mokpo now, she named herself without hesitation. Although Park Ji-hyun shed her rookie entertainer label and appeared on ″Radio Star″ again, she showed signs of nervousness from the beginning of the recording. The MCs teased her, asking why she was particularly nervous on ″Radio Star″ despite appearing on many variety shows. To ease her nerves, Park Ji-hyun performed a medley of dance songs she honed during her nationwide tour, explaining that she selects songs for concerts that audiences of various ages can enjoy together. Additionally, Park Ji-hyun revealed that her recognition increased across all age groups after appearing on ″I Live Alone.″ Previously, mostly older fans recognized her, but now people of various ages know her, and fans give her advice on performance remarks through DMs and letters. The broadcast also showed Park Ji-hyun’s songwriting process inspired by various objects and a quiz using lyrics she wrote herself. The MCs expressed amazement at her unique imagination. Drawing on her roughly 10 years of boxing experience, Park Ji-hyun demonstrated her passion by attempting double unders with a jump rope. Park Ji-hyun won the runner-up prize on TV CHOSUN’s ″Mr. Trot 2 - The Beginning of a New Legend″ in 2022 and officially debuted in 2023.
