Highlight TV announced that it will rebroadcast the KBS 2TV weekend drama ″Famous Chilgongju″ remastered starting from the 28th. ″Famous Chilgongju″ aired from April 1 to December 31, 2006, with a total of 80 episodes, achieving its highest viewership rating of 44.4% at the time of broadcast. The drama was written by writer Moon Young-nam and realistically portrayed the joys and sorrows of family life, gaining empathy across generations. Originally planned as a 50-episode series, it was extended by 30 episodes to a total of 80 due to ratings exceeding 40% and viewer requests. The final episode ended with a 29.9% viewership rating. At the center of the story is the father, former soldier Na Yang-pal (Park In-hwan), and his four daughters. All the daughters’ names include the character ″Chil,″ resulting in the names Deok-chil, Seol-chil, Mi-chil, and Jong-chil, which inspired the title ″Chilgongju.″ The four sisters each have different personalities and values, and the drama depicts their growth through love, marriage, conflict, and reconciliation. It humorously addresses realistic issues such as mother-in-law conflicts and generational gaps. Lee Seung-gi made his acting debut as the crown prince, Go Du-shim played the mother Kyung Myung-ja, delivering deep emotional performances. Na Moon-hee portrayed the maternal grandmother Nam Dal-gu, creating comic acting, catchphrases, and parodies. Lee Tae-ran’s character, the second daughter Na Seol-chil, is a company commander from the Army Academy with a secret about her birth, leading the main storyline. Park Hae-jin appeared as a younger man who has a crush on Na Seol-chil. In the latter part of the series, Kang Yu-mi and Ahn Il-kwon joined the cast. This rebroadcast features improved picture quality through remastering and will be aired twice daily in consecutive episodes starting from the 27th on Highlight TV.
