BTS 'IDOL' music video surpasses 1.4 billion views... 5th record within the team

The music video for BTS’s ″IDOL″ has surpassed 1.4 billion views on YouTube. At around 9:20 PM on the 29th, the music video for ″IDOL,″ the title track of the repackaged album ″LOVE YOURSELF 結 ’Answer’″ released in August 2018, exceeded 1.4 billion views on YouTube. With this, ″IDOL″ became the fifth BTS music video to reach 1.4 billion views, following ″Dynamite,″ ″Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey),″ ″DNA,″ and the ″MIC Drop″ remix. The ″IDOL″ music video created a festive atmosphere with various sets including tropical savanna grasslands, Bukcheong lion dance, Euro-Asian architecture, and traditional Korean styles. The performance combined African dance Guaraguara with Korean traditional dance, featuring a dazzling visual blend of samulnori, talchum, and graphic effects. Musically, South African beats were combined with traditional Korean rhythmic patterns and vocal exclamations. The unique charm was showcased through the combination of exclamations like ″Eolsu jota, jihwaja jota, deonggideok kungdeoreo″ and African rhythms. ″IDOL″ debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and number 21 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100. Additionally, the music video won the ″Music Video of 2018″ award at the 2018 E! People’s Choice Awards held in November 2018.
