Lee Hanul refutes, "Did I live off Kim Chang-yeol? I made almost all the DJ DOC songs."

Lee Ha-neul addressed the malicious comments claiming that he relied on Kim Chang-yeol for his livelihood. On the 29th, Lee Ha-neul released a video titled ″Did I live off Chang-yeol?″ on his channel. In the video, during a live broadcast, he said, ″Sorry, but since it’s wrong, I’ll record and move on,″ refuting some opinions that mentioned Kim Chang-yeol to criticize him. Lee Ha-neul stated, ″I also think that Chang-yeol has been making a living so far with the lyrics and songs I created. It’s somewhat true.″ He continued, ″I wrote almost all the lyrics for DOC’s songs, and I also made the songs. Please understand before you talk.″ He also explained, ″It might seem like I’m dissing Chang-yeol unintentionally, but when I spend about a year preparing album work in the recording studio, Chang-yeol comes about 10 days a year,″ adding, ″This part can’t be helped. I can’t refute it. This is a fact.″ Meanwhile, Lee Ha-neul debuted in 1994 with DJ DOC’s first album ″Superman’s Lament″ and released numerous hit songs such as ″Murphy’s Law,″ ″Winter Story,″ ″Summer Story,″ ″Dance with DOC,″ and ″Run to You.″ In 2021, after his younger brother and 45RPM member Lee Hyun-bae passed away, conflicts with Kim Chang-yeol became known. At that time, Lee Ha-neul claimed that while promoting a guesthouse business with Lee Hyun-bae, Kim Chang-yeol withdrew his investment, causing his brother financial difficulties. Later, he publicly criticized Kim Chang-yeol by leaving a comment on Kim’s memorial post saying, ″You killed my brother.″ In 2024, he appeared to reconcile with Kim Chang-yeol by gathering as the full DJ DOC group with Jung Jae-yong, but in December last year, when Lee Ha-neul and Jung Jae-yong held a year-end performance without Kim Chang-yeol, rumors of discord resurfaced. Currently, Lee Ha-neul operates a gopchang restaurant with Jung Jae-yong.
