Hwang Jung-min and Mr. A's stalking dispute... Family contact and dozens of message records revealed

In the dispute over stalking between actor Hwang Jung-min and Ms. A, specific contact records and circumstances of family contact have come to light. According to Dispatch’s report, the two met a total of three times, with face-to-face time totaling about 5 hours and 30 minutes. During this period, there was no physical contact such as holding hands, hugging, or kissing, and Ms. A also stated that there was no sexual intercourse. During the second meeting, there was talk about a soju brand business, and Hwang Jung-min suggested label design. Ms. A researched market surveys and trademark procedures, but the discussion was halted when Hwang Jung-min decided not to proceed with the business. Hwang Jung-min’s side said the proposal was casual, while Ms. A claimed she took it as an actual business offer. The relationship soured at the end of 2023, when Hwang Jung-min told Ms. A not to contact him for the time being. After that, Ms. A did not contact him for about 40 days and claimed to have attempted an extreme act. In February 2024, Ms. A sent a message to Hwang Jung-min’s then-minor son, and after receiving this contact, Hwang Jung-min unblocked Ms. A. On February 10, Ms. A sent Hwang Jung-min 78 messages in one day, totaling 6,119 characters. These messages repeatedly included apologies, demands for explanations, and references to her own death. Hwang Jung-min spoke with Ms. A the next day, and the third meeting took place on March 14 of the same year. At this meeting, Hwang Jung-min’s side apologized for misunderstandings regarding the soju business and expressed willingness to compensate if any costs were incurred. They also reportedly requested that Ms. A no longer contact the family. The two continued to exchange messages intermittently afterward. Ms. A claimed that Hwang Jung-min checked her KakaoTalk profile and private blog, read or evaluated her creative works, and that their interaction was mutual. Hwang Jung-min’s side explained that they could not completely cut off contact due to concerns that Ms. A might mention extreme acts or approach the family. In May 2025, Ms. A sent Hwang Jung-min 113 messages over four days, reportedly including statements such as, ″From the beginning, what I wanted was just to meet once and be hugged,″ and ″I wanted to be loved and have my existence acknowledged.″ The released conversations contained profanity, sentences implying suicide, and references to Hwang Jung-min’s family. Hwang Jung-min’s side judged this as stalking behavior and filed a criminal complaint against Ms. A. Dispatch reported that Hwang Jung-min’s side submitted as evidence to the investigative authorities 11,021 characters of KakaoTalk messages sent by Ms. A, photos of a cat’s corpse, photos of blood-stained tissues, eight letters, and two wills. Sam Company stated that the court issued provisional measures including three restraining orders against Ms. A and that a summary order imposing a fine of 3 million won for stalking charges was issued. Ms. A denies this, arguing that her purpose of contact was to settle business and creative labor matters and to demand explanations and apologies regarding their relationship. She claims that Hwang Jung-min treated her as a fan, acquaintance, and business partner, proposed business operations and writing, and then unilaterally cut off contact. The final judgment is expected to be made based on all evidence submitted at the formal trial.
