'Hope' surpasses 4 million cumulative viewers... ranks 3rd in Korean film box office this year

The film ″Hope,″ directed by Na Hong-jin, surpassed 4 million cumulative viewers around midnight on the 2nd. ″Hope″ ranked number one in Korean film ticket reservations for 30 consecutive days and attracted the third-largest audience among this year’s releases, following ″A Man Who Lives with the King″ and ″The Swarm.″ On August 1st, it recorded a seat occupancy rate of 44.3%. The story depicts Beom-seok, the head of the Hopohang branch office in the Demilitarized Zone, who hears reports of a tiger sighting from local youths and faces an unbelievable reality as the village goes on high alert. The cast includes Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jung Ho-yeon, Lim Hyun-sik, and Eum Moon-suk.
