The seven-member multinational team will release its first EP, “TUNE & PLAY,” on August 24 after giving a small group of fans an unusually early listen to the entire project.
HYBE Music Group is preparing to introduce another girl group to the global K-pop market, but TUIDE is not waiting until debut day to make an impression.
The seven-member act Seohee, Seoyeon, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah and Yihani will officially debut on August 24 at 6 p.m. KST, or 9 a.m. UTC, with its first EP, “TUNE & PLAY.” TUIDE is the first artist launched by ABD, HYBE’s newly established label.
The album title reflects the group’s central idea: bringing different musical identities together through “TUNE,” then turning that harmony into something playful and accessible through “PLAY.”
That concept is already visible in TUIDE’s first introduction video. Rather than relying on a conventional spoken profile, the members repeat the group’s name in several languages as Korean, English, Japanese and French move across a minimal beat. The brief clip positions TUIDE as a group designed to communicate across borders from the beginning.

TUIDE’s lineup includes members connected to South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan. All seven were born between 2006 and 2011, making the group an entirely teenage team at the time of its debut.
Their first official photographs lean into those differences rather than presenting the members in identical styling. Colorful logos, layered streetwear and individual fashion choices give each member a recognizable first look while maintaining a relaxed group identity.
Behind the project is producer Han Sung Soo, the PLEDIS Entertainment founder associated with the development of acts including SEVENTEEN, After School, IZ*ONE and TWS. His involvement adds another reason for industry watchers to pay attention to how TUIDE will be positioned within HYBE’s already crowded roster.

Perhaps the most unusual part of TUIDE’s rollout happened before its members had been fully introduced.
On August 1 and 2, the group held “TUIDE EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW [PLAYGROUND]” at Layer11 in Seoul. Only 225 people were selected for each day, and attendees were required to leave their phones outside the performance area. Photography, recording and livestreaming were strictly prohibited.
During the preview, TUIDE performed five songs from its debut release in front of the invited audience.
In a K-pop industry built around instantly shareable fancams and viral clips, the no-phone rule created an old-fashioned kind of curiosity. Fans outside the venue could read impressions, but they could not immediately judge the songs through low-quality recordings.
The strategy placed the focus on the live performance first and online promotion second a risky approach for an unknown group, but one that helped make TUIDE’s debut campaign feel more like a discovery than a standard teaser schedule.

Early international reactions have been divided.
Some fans have already begun posting edits and countdown content expressing excitement for the debut, including videos captioned with messages such as “can’t wait for their debut.” The multilingual introduction and the members’ contrasting visuals have also attracted interest from viewers curious about ABD’s musical direction.
Other K-pop listeners have been more cautious. Some questioned why HYBE was launching another group so quickly, while others argued that TUIDE should be judged only after the public hears the music. The skeptical comments appear to be directed as much at HYBE’s wider reputation and expansion strategy as at the seven members themselves.
That tension could become one of the group’s biggest challenges. TUIDE is debuting with the resources and visibility of the HYBE system, but it is also entering the market under intense scrutiny before releasing a single official song.
For now, the group has offered only fragments: seven new faces, a multilingual introduction, a private performance and a promise to “tune the tide.”
The real test begins when “TUNE & PLAY” reaches listeners worldwide on August 24.
