Lim Young Woong, 10th Anniversary Long Letter: "Success Thanks to Fans... Will Sing Together"

Lim Young Woong posted a lengthy message on the official fan cafe Hero Era to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut. Lim Young Woong reflected on their beginning, saying, ″Ten years ago today, I was actually someone who found the word ’debut’ quite awkward.″ They revealed, ″There was no grand stage, no flashy promotions, no TV broadcasts—just releasing one or two songs and producing a few CDs. That was how I started.″ Regarding the strength that helped Lim Young Woong endure their unknown days, they shared that the phrase ″I will become the best singer someday″ was always in their heart. Although they gradually gained recognition through ’Morning Yard,’ they mentioned that many people still did not know them. During this period, those who stayed by Lim Young Woong’s side were 200 to 300 fan cafe members and about a dozen to twenty fans who followed them to events. These fans arrived two hours early at venues, personally blew up 100 balloons, and shouted Lim Young Woong’s name until their voices were hoarse, even when no one knew who Lim Young Woong was. Lim Young Woong recalled, ″Wherever I went, these people arrived two hours early to hang banners, personally blew up around 100 balloons with their own mouths, and shouted my name until their voices were hoarse, even when no one knew me yet.″ In 2020, Lim Young Woong’s life changed through ’Mr. Trot.’ However, they did not take credit for reaching the top and expressed gratitude to fans, saying, ″Looking back, I was always lacking, but you made me the best.″ Lim Young Woong stated, ″Ten years ago, the spell ’I will be the best someday’—now that I think about it, it wasn’t my own vow but a promise you made to me in advance.″ They continued, ″From now on, I will remain someone who sings by your side for a long, long time,″ and ended the 10th-anniversary letter with, ″I love you, Hero Era.″
