'The Completion of Marriage,' KBS Saturday-Sunday miniseries breaks highest viewership record... Final episode records 11.2%

KBS 2TV weekend mini-series ″The Completion of Marriage″ recorded its highest ratings with a peak of 11.2% in minute-by-minute ratings and 8.8% nationwide ratings (according to Nielsen Korea) in the final episode aired on August 9. This set a new personal best rating, securing first place among dramas airing at the same time slot and achieving the highest ratings ever for a KBS weekend mini-series. In the finale, Kang Tae-joo (played by Namgung Min) fulfilled his duty as a doctor despite injuries and crises, successfully completing the emergency surgery of Kim Kyung-ae (played by Lee Sang-hee), the wife of Noh Man-hee (played by Kim Dae-myung). After confirming the success of his wife’s surgery, Noh Man-hee tried to take all the blame and attempted to take his own life, but Kang Tae-joo stopped him. Kang Tae-joo said, ″Neither you nor your wife can run away easily. Live and pay for your sins,″ and Noh Man-hee was arrested by the police. Meanwhile, Choi Chi-woong (played by Woo Ji-hyun) infiltrated the hospital and attacked Go Se-yoon (played by Lee Seol), but the police arrived and subdued him while Go Se-yoon resisted. Despite a serious injury to his hand, Kang Tae-joo personally operated on Go Se-yoon. Later, Go Se-yoon reviewed the original video of Kang Tae-joo drunkenly saying, ″Please get rid of my wife,″ and realized that Kang Tae-joo’s true intention was to free his wife for her sake. After all the incidents were resolved, Go Se-yoon said, ″This time, I will let go. Let’s get a divorce,″ and Kang Tae-joo accepted, saying, ″This is how differently we love.″ The two chose their own paths without blaming each other. In the ending, Kang Tae-joo and Go Se-yoon reunited at the forest burial site on the anniversary of their daughter Ha-yoon’s death after their divorce. They asked about each other’s well-being, shared gentle smiles, and walked together along the forest path. The production team expressed, ″We sincerely thank all the actors and staff who gave their passion and fighting spirit, and the viewers who sent their warm love until the very end.″
