BIGBANG Unveils Bold New Single ‘BiiiG’ Ahead of World Tour

G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung appear in dramatic new concept images for “BiiiG,” setting the stage for BIGBANG’s first world tour in nine years.

BIGBANG is preparing to mark two decades in K-pop with more than a retrospective concert tour. The group has now signaled the arrival of new music, giving its 20th-anniversary campaign a release designed for the present rather than relying entirely on past hits.

On August 11, G-Dragon shared the message “Coming soon” on social media and tagged an account created for BIGBANG’s 2026 comeback. He also posted concept photographs connected to a new digital single titled “BiiiG.”

The images place G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung in vividly lit settings dominated by red, blue and yellow. Although the photographs reveal little about the song itself, their bold color palette and theatrical presentation suggest that BIGBANG is approaching the project as a major visual comeback.

A release date, track credits and further details about the single had not been officially announced at the time of writing.

Why the Title BiiiG Matters

“BiiiG” draws directly from the group’s name, extending the word “big” in a way that emphasizes scale and confidence. That choice feels particularly deliberate during an anniversary built around BIGBANG’s longevity and its return to stadium-sized performances.

The new material will be released by the group’s current three-member lineup of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung. The trio reunited onstage at Coachella in April 2026, where they performed defining BIGBANG tracks alongside solo material and “Home Sweet Home,” G-Dragon’s collaboration with Taeyang and Daesung.

That festival appearance served as a public reintroduction, but “BiiiG” could provide a clearer picture of how the members want BIGBANG to sound in its third decade. The distinction matters because the group’s most recent official single, “Still Life,” arrived in April 2022 as a reflective song about time, memory and changing seasons. It featured G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung and T.O.P, who later confirmed his departure from the group.

“Still Life” proved that interest in BIGBANG’s music had survived a prolonged break. The song led major South Korean streaming charts, achieved a certified all-kill and debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Global 200. “BiiiG,” however, arrives in a different context: not as an isolated reunion single, but as part of an active touring era.

New Music Before a Global Stadium Tour

The teaser comes shortly before BIGBANG opens its 20th-anniversary world tour at Goyang Stadium in South Korea from August 21 through 23.

Titled BIGBANG 2026–2027 World Tour XX : COSMOS, the tour is the group’s first world tour in approximately nine years. Its itinerary includes major venues such as MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Stade de France in Paris, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Taipei Dome and Tokyo Dome.

“XX” represents the 20 years that BIGBANG and its fans have shared, while “COSMOS” refers to connection and continuity across the group’s past, present and future, according to YG Entertainment. The agency has also said that the members contributed ideas to the tour’s title.

This scale makes “BiiiG” commercially significant beyond its chart performance. A new single gives the tour a contemporary centerpiece and allows the trio to establish a musical identity specific to the anniversary era. It also creates a bridge between listeners who discovered BIGBANG through recent solo projects and longtime VIPs who followed the group’s earlier albums.

Twenty Years of Influence, Reframed for 2026

BIGBANG debuted in August 2006 and became one of the defining groups of K-pop’s second generation. Songs including “Lies,” “Haru Haru,” “Fantastic Baby,” “Bang Bang Bang” and “Last Dance” helped establish a model built around distinctive individual identities, artist participation in songwriting and a strong fusion of pop, hip-hop and electronic music.

The members have since developed separate careers. G-Dragon returned to solo album activities with Übermensch in 2025, while Taeyang and Daesung have continued releasing and performing their own music. Their reunion therefore brings together three established solo performers rather than simply recreating the group as it existed during its early years.

That makes the central question surrounding “BiiiG” especially compelling: whether BIGBANG will revisit the explosive sound associated with its biggest anthems or use its anniversary to introduce a more mature direction.

For now, the teaser offers no definitive answer. It does, however, confirm that BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary is being presented as an active new chapter. With fresh music and a stadium tour beginning within days, the group is not only looking back at the history it helped create. It is preparing to show what BIGBANG means in 2026.
