Seventeen Dino's sub-character 'Picheolin' releases mini album 1st '吉BOARD'... Participated in writing and composing all tracks

Seventeen(SEVENTEEN) Dino’s mini 1st album as his alter ego Picheolin, ’吉BOARD (Gilboard),’ is gaining attention from overseas music media. This is the first time an active K-pop idol has released an entire album under an alter ego. On the 7th, Dino revealed the process of preparing the album as Picheolin on Big Bang Daesung’s YouTube channel ’Jipdaesung.’ He said, ″At first, I thought I was preparing a solo album as Dino, but there was a suggestion to do it as Picheolin,″ and shared that after six months of deliberation, he participated in writing and composing all the songs. Dino also stated that he, along with producer Beomgu, newly designed the sound and style to fit the Picheolin character. Picheolin first appeared at a fan meeting in 2021 and was initially used as a character in skits, but after five years, he has become the main figure of an album. This album includes various generational sounds such as the EDM trap ’Nolabose’ produced by Hitchhiker, the new jack swing ’Jeongmal’ created by Deux’s Lee Hyun-do, and the city pop ’Apeuji Aneun Ibyeoreun Eopda’ featuring narration by Lee Moon-se. Picheolin’s official debut stage was on KBS1’s ’National Singing Contest.’ Seventeen has been active for 11 years since debut, continuing various unit and solo activities by members. The title ’吉BOARD’ that Dino presents this time combines ’Gilboard,’ a symbol of 1990s street culture, and ’BOARD,’ meaning stage. Overseas media have also given various evaluations of Picheolin and ’吉BOARD.’ The UK’s CLASH reported that this album combines the atmosphere of past music with a contemporary sensibility. The US’s Genius praised Dino for interpreting 1990s street culture in a modern way. Genius focused on the meaning of ’Jeong’ through the song ’Jeongeuro Sarangeuro,’ while ABS-CBN and Esquire Philippines introduced ’Heung’ as joy, excitement, and festival energy, respectively. Cosmopolitan Indonesia reported that the album confirmed Dino’s passion for music, and Bandwagon Asia commented that the tracks leave joy and comfort even after the music ends. Dino is scheduled to appear as Picheolin on the HYBE podcast channel ’STAN’ original content ’STAN [SEVENTEEN]’ on the 14th. From the 21st to the 23rd, he will hold the ’2026 DinoX Picheolin [吉BOARD SHOW]’ at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
