Big Bang and Lim Young Woong Goyang concerts sold out consecutively... Goyang City makes all-out efforts to prepare for heatwaves and traffic chaos

Large-scale concerts by Big Bang and Lim Young Woong will be held consecutively at Goyang Sports Complex. Big Bang will hold the ’BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR IN GOYANG’ from August 21 to 23 to celebrate their 20th anniversary, and Lim Young Woong will perform ’IM HERO - THE STADIUM 2’ from September 4 to 6. All shows for both concerts have sold out, including additional seats. Goyang Special City has established a comprehensive safety management plan focusing on heatwaves, crowds, and traffic congestion in preparation for these mega concerts. Through close consultation with the event organizers, customized response measures tailored to the characteristics of each concert’s audience are being prepared. YG Entertainment, the organizer of the Big Bang concert, plans to create a comfortable viewing environment during the hot season by installing rest areas throughout the venue and expanding operational booths to minimize waiting times and movement routes for attendees. Temporary medical stations have also been sufficiently secured to enable prompt response to emergencies. Fish Music, the organizer of the Lim Young Woong concert, will significantly increase the number of guides to ensure safe movement of attendees within the large venue. Safety management will be strengthened by providing rest areas, beverages, and deploying emergency personnel inside the venue. On the 6th, Mayor Min Kyung-sun of Goyang Special City hosted the ’2026 Second Half Large-Scale Concert Administrative Support Measures Report Meeting,’ reviewing cooperation systems in safety and traffic with related agencies such as the police, fire department, and Korea Railroad Corporation. On the day of the concerts, an on-site headquarters will be operated to respond to emergencies, and traffic police will be deployed around the venue in collaboration with the police and fire department, with emergency vehicle lanes secured. Measures to alleviate traffic congestion include operating shuttle buses connecting GTX-A Kintex Station and the venue, cracking down on illegal parking and street vendors around the venue, and dispersing audience exit routes. Additionally, nearby residents will be informed of the concert schedules in advance, and a duty office will be operated during nights and weekends throughout the event period to respond to civil complaints. Mayor Min Kyung-sun of Goyang Special City stated, ″With the best administrative support, we aim to leave a positive impression of Goyang on concertgoers and continuously attract large-scale concerts.″
