Lim Woo-il clarifies greeting controversy with Min Kyung-hoon: "I thought to greet first because he is a senior."

Comedian Lim Woo-il clarified the controversy regarding his alleged passing over singer Min Kyung-hoon. On the August 15th episode of JTBC variety show ″Knowing Bros″ (episode 540), Lim Woo-il addressed the issue concerning the greeting controversy. The episode featured Hwang Je-seong, Nam Ho-yeon, Lim Woo-il, and Kwak Beom. During the broadcast, Nam Ho-yeon revealed that Lim Woo-il greeted the cast members before the recording but did not greet Min Kyung-hoon. Nam Ho-yeon said, ″Earlier, Woo-il came around and greeted everyone. He greeted Young-chul, Ho-dong, and Soo-geun. Sang-min was in the restroom, so he wasn’t there, and Shin-young wasn’t there either. He also greeted Jang-hoon. Kyung-hoon was next to Shin-young’s room. I asked Woo-il, ’Shouldn’t you greet Kyung-hoon?’ and he said, ’Just come.’″ In response, Lim Woo-il showed resentment toward Nam Ho-yeon, asking, ″Why are you saying that?″ Nam Ho-yeon criticized Lim Woo-il, saying, ″He probably forgot about his own stray cat and just adopted it, so he passed over him.″ When Nam Ho-yeon asked again, ″Did you pass by Kyung-hoon’s room or not?″ Lim Woo-il explained, ″Anyway, they are older and seniors, so I thought it was right to greet them first. Kyung-hoon debuted much earlier than me, but since he is a singer and younger than me, I thought it wouldn’t look good if I went in first to greet him. That was my thought. It was simply just that.″ Later, Lim Woo-il told Nam Ho-yeon, ″You’re trying to get a segment to look good in front of Kyung-hoon,″ to which Nam Ho-yeon insisted, ″I value manners. I’m talking about basic character and manners rather than laughter.″ Meanwhile, Lim Woo-il was born in 1981 and debuted as a KBS 26th public recruitment comedian in 2011, while Min Kyung-hoon was born in 1984 and debuted as a member of the group Buzz in 2003.
