Hwang Hyun-min revisits the 'Bae Jung-nam assault case' on SNS, claiming "20 million won settlement payment"

Entrepreneur Hwang Hyun-min, formerly of Group Jam, mentioned again on his SNS the assault incident involving actors Bae Jung-nam and Marco that occurred 17 years ago. On the 16th, Hwang posted on SNS along with a photo of Bae Jung-nam, saying, ″Did you know this guy is a leftist who supports Cho Kuk, and that I was the CEO of Marco’s agency when he appeared on ’We Got Married’?″ He went on to reveal that during the time Marco was gaining popularity appearing as a couple with Son Dam-bi on ’We Got Married,’ Marco assaulted Bae Jung-nam at Club Eden (later renamed Burning Sun), breaking two of Bae’s front teeth, and the next day he personally paid Bae 20 million won in settlement money. He also mentioned his efforts to prevent the incident from being reported in the media at the time, saying, ″When I think about it, I still want to beat both of those guys to death.″ He further claimed, ″On the early morning of the day this guy was beaten, he brought four gangsters from the Busan Chilseong faction asking to kill Marco. Marco and I went out together and dealt with them.″ The assault allegations between Bae Jung-nam and Marco surfaced online in 2009, claiming a brawl broke out at a club. In response, Bae appeared on MBC’s ’Radio Star’ in 2017 and explained that he was assaulted by one of Marco’s party members after a fashion show after-party but received an apology and cleared up the misunderstanding. Marco also appeared on MBC Every1’s ’Video Star’ the same year and addressed the rumor through a phone call with Bae, stating that the rumor grew due to a fake video and that there was no bad blood between them. The two later publicly reconciled. Hwang Hyun-min claimed that Bae Jung-nam and Marco’s resolution of their misunderstanding on the broadcast was ″a clumsy act they planned together.″
