'SDFA', 950 dancers compete... First broadcast on Mnet and tvN on August 18

Mnet’s new survival program ″Street World Fighter: Director’s War″ (hereinafter ″SWF″) held a production presentation on the morning of the 18th at the Elliena Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, revealing the participation of 10 performance directors and the program’s unique features. ″SWF″ is an expanded version of the existing ″Street Woman Fighter″ and ″Street Man Fighter″ series. It is the first individual dance survival competition where performance directors who plan and complete the stage compete directly with their overall stage directing skills, including choreography creation and movement direction. This season, 10 world-class directors, regardless of gender, participate and compete under their own names in a battle of works. The participants are Nine, Renan, Bada, Baek Go-young, Babyzoo, Shimizu, In-gyu, Jung Min-jun, Casper, and Hash. Among them, Nine, Shimizu, Bada, Baek Go-young, and In-gyu come from the existing series. Nine said, ″I want to show a more grown-up side,″ and Bada said, ″Although there is pressure as a winning crew, I am happy.″ Baek Go-young stated, ″Since this is a competition under my own name, not a crew name, the responsibility for quality is immense.″ In-gyu mentioned, ″This time, I am thinking about ’why this scene must be like this’.″ Shimizu explained, ″It is a program where you can see the process of creating a work.″ The newly joined Renan, Babyzoo, Jung Min-jun, Casper, and Hash also showcased their strengths. Renan introduced himself as ″a director who does not miss details,″ Babyzoo said, ″I have the power to unite everyone as one,″ Jung Min-jun described himself as ″a persuasive director who narrows the gap between the audience and the director,″ Casper called himself ″the hexagonal director,″ and Hash emphasized, ″I am a director who awakens the potential of dancers.″ PD Choi Jung-nam, who is in charge of directing the program, explained the difference of this season: ″While the previous Street series focused on crews, this ’SWF’ highlights the process of individual choreographers creating the stage,″ adding, ″We chose ’battle of works’ as the keyword. You will be able to see the choreographers’ thoughts more richly than in other dance programs.″ He also revealed, ″Since choreographers have to create works, many dancers are mobilized for each mission,″ and added, ″This season features the largest number of dancers ever. Each mission is a mega crew, with nearly 1,000 domestic and international dancers appearing.″ The first mission is the ″1:1 Signature Mission,″ where participants recreate their opponent’s representative choreography with a new concept. Various global missions, including directing K-pop artists and directing kid dancers, are planned afterward. The winner will receive the right to direct the opening of a global awards ceremony, a support fund, and a vacation for recharging. This season also features a changed voting system. PD Choi Jung-nam said, ″The voting system was initially anonymous. This time, we are adopting a method of voting based on the works.″ ″Street World Fighter: Director’s War″ will premiere simultaneously on Mnet and tvN at 10 PM on August 18.
