Kiki releases mini album 3 'Waikiki'... Featuring Y2K vibes and summer resort concept

The group KiiiKiii made a comeback by releasing their third mini-album, ″WhyKiiiKiii,″ on the 10th. This album is named after the Hawaiian resort ″Waikiki″ and divides a day spent at a fictional summer resort into six tracks. The title track ″Pop Off Pop Off″ expresses the feeling of summer with intense synth sounds, repetitive rhythms, and KiiiKiii’s unique playful atmosphere. Instead of freshness or overwhelming emotions, this song portrays a different kind of summer with a lively melody and rhythm. The pre-release track ″Candy Pink Magic Hole Flip Phone″ features elements reminiscent of the early 2000s, such as flip phones, the internet, and games. This song captures KiiiKiii’s perspective on Y2K with unique sounds and witty lyrics. The music video incorporates scenes of the members roaming a summer resort alongside elements that evoke internet screens and game characters. Rather than simply recreating past sentiments, KiiiKiii twisted familiar themes in their own way to create a new atmosphere in this album. They interpreted the familiar themes of Y2K and summer from their own viewpoint, reflecting this throughout the songs and the album as a whole. In their previous activities, ″I DO ME″ expressed the freedom of girls leaving for unfamiliar places, and ″Dancing Alone″ depicted exotic summer moments. After establishing their presence with the mini 2nd album’s title track ″404 (New Era),″ they expanded their range by presenting different concepts and music. ″WhyKiiiKiii″ continues along this trajectory. While choosing new themes, KiiiKiii focused on maintaining their unique color. They digested the familiar themes of Y2K and summer in their own way, showing that they did not settle for previous activities but made another choice.
