Kim Jaejoong reveals the story of repaying a favor to a supermarket owner... Expresses gratitude for the day he lent 100,000 won

Singer Kim Jaejoong’s story of repaying a supermarket owner who once helped him has been revealed. Kim Jaejoong recently appeared on the YouTube channel ’Kkondaehee,’ hosted by comedian Kim Daehee, where he recalled the difficult times before his debut. Kim Jaejoong said that he passed the SM Entertainment trainee audition at age 16 and moved to Seoul, but had to support himself without family assistance. Alongside his trainee life, he worked part-time jobs delivering newspapers, at construction sites, and in restaurants to earn living expenses. He also shared a story about walking for hours from Apgujeong-dong to Chungjeongno because he didn’t have subway fare. In particular, Kim Jaejoong mentioned an experience where he tried to buy goods wholesale to sell to restaurants to pay rent, but since sales were poor, he even tried to sell items at a supermarket. The supermarket owner asked him, ″Hey, you seem about the same age as my son. Why are you doing this? How much do you need?″ When Kim Jaejoong said he needed 100,000 won, the owner gave him 100,000 won and bought the goods for him. He said he was able to pay his rent with that money. After debuting, Kim Jaejoong did not forget the kindness and went to the supermarket intending to repay at least ten times the amount in cash. He also learned that the supermarket owner was a pastor at the church in the same building. When the pastor tried not to accept the money, Kim Jaejoong expressed his gratitude by purchasing red ginseng and gift sets from the supermarket with the money he had prepared. He said, ″I felt so good at that time,″ and added that he sought out those who had helped him during that period. Upon hearing this story, Kim Daehee admired, ″A person’s character is revealed in moments like this. It’s cool that you didn’t forget that kindness. Well done.″
