Cha In-pyo "Experienced panic on a plane... felt suffocated and scared"

Cha In-pyo appeared on the ″Your Life″ interview segment of Shin Ae-ra’s YouTube channel, Shinaelife, where he shared stories about his family and life. Cha In-pyo revealed that he was never compared to others by his parents in terms of grades or abilities during his childhood. He recalled that although his older and younger siblings were good at studying, his mother would say, ″You are different,″ or ″But you are good at basketball.″ He explained that while he was sometimes compared to his brother at school, there were no such comparisons at home. On that day, Shin Ae-ra said, ″Comparison is really harmful,″ and added, ″Children lose their place to go. It shouldn’t happen even at home.″ She emphasized, ″Home should be the last refuge for children.″ Cha In-pyo also shared his experience of having his first panic attack on a plane heading to Istanbul a few years ago for a documentary shoot. He said that while reading the script, he suddenly felt unable to breathe and experienced a suffocating sensation as if he were drowning. He described the feeling, saying, ″It was so suffocating that I felt like I had to take my eyes out to survive,″ and ″It felt like all the organs in my body had to escape this prison called Cha In-pyo in order for me to live.″ Realizing that he could not get off the plane intensified his fear, and he said, ″My bank account balance, our home, my beloved wife, and family couldn’t help at all,″ and ″I even thought, ’This must be the feeling a person has when they die. I’m going to leave completely alone.’″ The symptoms subsided about 30 minutes later, but he revealed that it became difficult for him to fly alone afterward. Currently, he said, ″For long distances, if I go with my wife, she acts as my stabilizer,″ and that he is gradually overcoming it together with Shin Ae-ra. The conversation between Cha In-pyo and Shin Ae-ra in ″Your Life″ can be seen on the YouTube channel Shinaelife.
