“G-Dragon Saved My Husband”: Cameraman’s Wife Thanks BIGBANG Star After Close Call

G-Dragon was performing in front of tens of thousands of fans when he noticed something the cameraman filming him apparently could not see.

The edge of the stage. A video from BIGBANG’s XX : COSMOS concert in Goyang has gone viral after showing G-Dragon interrupting his own movements to warn a camera operator who was walking backward while filming.

The operator was approaching the edge of a stage reported to be approximately two meters high. G-Dragon quickly gestured for him to move inward, stepped aside to create space and then positioned himself behind the cameraman as filming continued.

The moment might have looked minor from the audience. According to the cameraman’s family, it was anything but.

“G-Dragon saved my husband”

After footage spread online, a commenter identifying herself as the camera operator’s wife explained what had happened from her family’s perspective.

She said her husband had been backing up to maintain the correct camera angle while G-Dragon continued moving toward him during the performance.

Because he was concentrating on the shot, he was apparently unaware of how close he had come to the edge.

The woman said the stage was around two meters high and that without G-Dragon’s intervention, her husband could have fallen from it. She described the situation as one that could have become a serious accident and thanked G-Dragon for helping him return home safely. Her family, she added, are already BIGBANG fans. That made the story particularly emotional for them.

G-Dragon didn’t just warn him once

What impressed fans most was what happened after the initial warning.

The video appears to come from BIGBANG’s performance of “We Like 2 Party.” G-Dragon first uses his hand to direct the cameraman toward the safer interior of the stage. He then changes his own position to give the operator more room.

But when the cameraman turns to film the other BIGBANG members, G-Dragon continues watching him. He moves behind the operator, effectively placing himself between the cameraman and the stage edge in case he steps backward again. There was no visible pause in the concert. G-Dragon simply continued performing while keeping track of the person filming him.

That is one reason the clip has attracted so much attention: the intervention appears instinctive rather than staged.

Fans say the moment showed his awareness on stage

Clips and translations of the wife’s comment quickly began circulating internationally, with fans praising G-Dragon’s awareness of the people working around him.

One widely shared English-language post described how the cameraman was moving backward while filming near the edge before G-Dragon stepped in. Similar posts have spread across Korean, Japanese and international BIGBANG fan communities. Large stadium productions involve performers, dancers, camera operators and other staff moving simultaneously through tightly planned routes. For camera crews in particular, filming while walking backward creates an obvious challenge: their attention is directed through a viewfinder rather than toward whatever is behind them. A small positioning mistake on an elevated stage can therefore have much more serious consequences than audiences may realize.

It happened during BIGBANG’s massive 20th-anniversary opening shows

The incident occurred during BIGBANG’s three-night run at Goyang Stadium from August 21 through 23, which opened the group’s 2026–2027 XX : COSMOS world tour.

More than 100,000 people attended the three concerts, according to Korean reports.

The shows marked the beginning of BIGBANG’s 20th-anniversary tour and featured G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung performing songs spanning the group’s career, alongside the first live performances of their new anniversary single “BiiiG.”

The tour is now scheduled to continue internationally, with stops across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. The official Goyang dates were August 21–23.

But among the elaborate staging and anniversary celebrations, one of the weekend’s most widely shared moments ended up being something that lasted only seconds.
