TWICE Nayeon purchases a 9.5 billion won building in Cheongdam-dong... Gangnam real estate investment move

It has been confirmed that TWICE member Nayeon purchased land and a building in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for 9.5 billion KRW, becoming a building owner. According to the real estate industry and the official registry, Nayeon signed the real estate sales contract on May 3rd and completed the ownership transfer registration on the 24th of this month. The building Nayeon purchased is from one basement floor to two above-ground floors, with a total floor area of 218.87m2 (approximately 66 pyeong). This building, which was expanded in 2010, was recently changed to be used entirely as a neighborhood living facility. A mortgage with a maximum claim amount of 10.2 billion KRW has been established on the property. The building is located on a corner adjacent to two roads, making it highly versatile. Nearby are luxury residential facilities, entertainment companies, galleries, and fashion and luxury-related establishments. The real estate industry views Nayeon’s purchase as a decision based more on the location in Cheongdam-dong, land value, and potential for new construction rather than rental income. This is not Nayeon’s first real estate investment. In 2024, she reportedly purchased the luxury house ″Brighton N40″ in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, for about 3.9 billion KRW. Born in 1995, Nayeon is 30 years old this year and has become the second member in the Gangnam area to own a large-scale property. Among TWICE members, leader Jihyo also purchased an old building in Seongsu-dong 2-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, in March 2024 for 4 billion KRW, paying the full amount in cash. The building, completed in 1986, has one basement floor and three above-ground floors, and the land was traded at about 86.99 million KRW per 3.3m2. Local real estate agents evaluated Jihyo’s investment as relatively inexpensive considering the nearby market prices and appraisal values. TWICE members have also continued purchasing real estate overseas and in suburban areas. Momo bought a luxury house in Archiul Village, Guri-si, Gyeonggi-do, in October last year for 4.27 billion KRW, paying the full amount in cash. This villa, completed in May 2023, has two basement floors and four above-ground floors and is a private space with only eight households. Tzuyu, originally from Taiwan, purchased a luxury penthouse in her hometown, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, in February 2023 for about 100 million TWD (approximately 4.1 billion KRW). Meanwhile, in the entertainment and sports industries, cases of real estate investment through long-term holding, new construction development, and savings-centered asset management are continuing. Broadcaster Seo Jang-hoon recently put his building in Seocho-dong, Seoul, which he owned for 26 years, on the market for 45 billion KRW. Former volleyball player Kim Yo-han revealed that he saved his salary during his active career to purchase a building.
