Jimin's "Who" surpasses 100 million streams on the Japan Record Association... Platinum certification

BTS Jimin’s second solo album ’MUSE’ title track ’Who’ has received a ’Platinum’ certification in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Big Hit Music announced on the 31st that ’Who’ achieved this certification by surpassing 100 million cumulative streams in Japan. The Recording Industry Association of Japan awards ’Gold’ certification for over 50 million streams, ’Platinum’ for over 100 million streams, and ’Diamond’ for over 500 million streams each month based on cumulative streams. ’Who’ has recorded the highest cumulative streams among Jimin’s solo songs and is the first to receive a Platinum certification in streaming for his solo activities. The song belongs to the hip-hop and R&B genres, expressing feelings of longing and confusion for someone never met, characterized by intense beats and delicate guitar performances. Jimin has also received certifications from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for album sales. His first solo album ’FACE’ surpassed 250,000 cumulative sales, earning a Platinum certification in the album category, while ’MUSE’ sold over 100,000 copies, receiving a Gold certification. Meanwhile, ’Who’ entered the US Billboard main singles chart ’Hot 100’ at number 12 on the August 3, 2024 issue and stayed on the chart for 33 weeks. It ranked number 1 for two consecutive weeks on the Billboard ’Global 200’ and ’Global (excluding US)’ charts, appearing on the charts for 74 and 89 weeks respectively. On the UK ’Official Singles Top 100,’ it peaked at number 4 and charted for 28 weeks.
