IU will make a comeback on September 10 with a digital single containing a new song. EDAM Entertainment released a teaser video for the new digital single at midnight on the 4th through IU’s official SNS. The video featured a symbol combining a crescent moon, orbit, and a sphere filled with light, accompanied by visuals reminiscent of a retro PC screen, and displayed the release schedule as ’IU DIGITAL SINGLE’ and ’2026.09.10. 18:00 (KST).’ The music inserted in the teaser video was confirmed to be the same background music used in the ’Please Grant My Wish, Star’ video released on IU’s official YouTube channel at the end of August. Since the use of this music, various speculations about the new song have circulated online. IU had previously presented fans with a special gift by releasing a new song without prior notice. Earlier, IU canceled the solo concert scheduled for this month at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium due to worsening rhinitis in July. Along with this, the release schedule for the 6th full-length album has also been postponed. Through the fan platform, IU directly explained the changes in the concert and album schedule, stating, ″Experts advised that holding a concert involving a lot of sweating would be difficult for the time being.″ It has not yet been disclosed whether the new song is a pre-release track from the 6th full-length album. EDAM Entertainment stated that specific information such as the title and genre of the new song will be announced later. Meanwhile, IU debuted in 2008 with the mini-album Lost and Found and has released numerous hit songs including Good Day, You and I, Friday, Through the Night, and Love wins all.
