Hong Seok-cheon reveals the reason for adopting his sister's child... "A sense of responsibility to become the pillar of the family"

Hong Seok-cheon appeared on MBN’s ’Sokpuri Show Dongchimi’ and revealed the reason he adopted his nephews and nieces and his sense of responsibility toward family. On the show, Hong Seok-cheon said that he decided to adopt after realizing that his divorced sister’s children needed a guardian and that he could legally register them under his family registry. He shared that he had no intention of getting married and wanted to be a reliable figure for the children. Hong Seok-cheon revealed that after his eldest sister passed away from leukemia during his childhood, seeing his mother cry every holiday made him feel he had to become the pillar of the family. Despite being the youngest, he added that he took on the role of taking responsibility for the family. Regarding the process of persuading his nephews and nieces, Hong Seok-cheon said he talked to the children about adoption by mentioning his assets. He said, ″Uncle could suddenly die anytime. But you know Uncle has some assets, right? That’s why I’m doing this. Now, I’ll give you 10 minutes to talk with your mom.″ After the adoption, he said he did not participate in school events because he was worried that his children might be stared at due to his public disclosure of his sexual identity. Because of this, he said there are no photos from entrance or graduation ceremonies. Recently, he also shared news that his adopted daughter has completed the formal meeting with her fiancé’s family ahead of her wedding. Hong Seok-cheon said, ″My son-in-law is not really my type, but he treats elders well,″ adding, ″I have a good eye for men.″
